Independent developer Chimeric announced today that Nova Drift, the critically acclaimed ship-crafting roguelike space shooter, will launch on mobile devices March 10, 2026, bringing its full-featured experience to iOS and Android platforms.
The mobile version will be available as a premium title priced at $9.99, with no advertisements or in-app purchases. The port includes the complete PC experience, featuring over 200 modular upgrades that allow players to craft highly customized bio-mechanical ships. Gameplay options range from long-range precision combat to drone-based tactics and aggressive thrust-based attacks, all optimized for mobile touch controls with support for customizable control schemes and external gamepads.
Nova Drift first entered Steam Early Access in 2019 after beginning development in 2014. The game has since built a dedicated following, earning "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam with more than 13,700 positive ratings representing 93% approval.
The title combines classic arcade space combat mechanics with action-RPG progression systems, offering procedurally generated runs lasting 15-45 minutes, campaign modes, and endless survival challenges. Widely recognized as an influential title in the "survivors-like" genre alongside its roguelike foundation, Nova Drift reached its full 1.0 release on PC in late 2024.
The mobile version is currently available for pre-order on the App Store for iOS devices, while Android users can add the game to their wishlist on Google Play. The port includes Game Center integration supporting leaderboards and achievements.
Developer Jeffrey Nielson of Chimeric, working with music and promotional support from Pixeljam, announced the mobile launch on social media, stating: "Nova Drift comes to mobile March 10th! Deep roguelike ship-crafting arcade action… All PC version features plus custom touch-controls, mobile gamepad support, and optimization."
The mobile release positions Nova Drift to reach new audiences as the platform continues its growth in the gaming market.
